Plastics are widely used and are indispensable components in home appliances, automobiles, mobile phones, PCs, medical equipment, and lighting appliances. With the sustained and stable growth of my country’s economy, industries such as home appliances, automobiles, mobile phones, PCs, and medical devices have also achieved rapid development benefiting from a good external environment. The development of downstream industries has further stimulated the demand for plastics. In 2010, there were 2,286 enterprises in China’s plastic parts manufacturing industry, a year-on-year increase of 24.54%; sales revenue reached 106.125 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.38%.
During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, my country’s downstream industries such as automobiles, home appliances, consumer electronics, and medical devices will continue to maintain rapid development. The demand for plastic parts in these industries will continue to expand, and the demand will also show a trend of high-end and precision. It is estimated that during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the sales scale of China’s plastic parts manufacturing industry will reach 170 billion yuan. According to the CIC survey, the technological innovation capability of China’s plastic parts manufacturing industry has been further enhanced, and the number of enterprise technology R&D centers has continued to increase; the industrial structure, enterprise structure and product structure have been continuously adjusted, and the industrial intensity has been gradually upgraded; the overall advantages of the industry have been further improved and Strengthening, the gap with the developed countries in the world is gradually narrowing, and some aspects have reached the world’s advanced level, entering a critical period of sustainable development from a big country to an advanced and powerful country. The plastic parts manufacturing industry in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong and other places is booming. Both the number of enterprises and the scale of production and sales are in the leading position in the country, and the regional concentration of the industry is relatively high.
With plastic as the main raw material, various plastic products or components are made by processing technologies such as injection, extrusion, and hollow molding.
Plastic products are made of plastic and polymerized by polyaddition or polycondensation, commonly known as plastic or resin. The composition and shape can be freely changed. It is composed of synthetic resins and additives such as fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers, lubricants, and pigments.
Rubber is divided into natural rubber and synthetic rubber.
Natural rubber is mainly derived from the Hevea sinensis tree. When the epidermis of the rubber tree is cut, a milky white sap will flow out, called latex. The latex is coagulated, washed, shaped and dried to obtain natural rubber.
Synthetic rubber is made by artificial synthesis, and different kinds of rubber can be synthesized by using different raw materials (monomers).
